What Is A Line Item?

A line item is a service and each line item is configured from several pieces of data including a title, a service schedule and key dates.

Line items can be configured within your line items page (Configure > Line Items).
For more information on how to create a new line item (service), see our help article here.

It's important you understand how to configure every aspect of a line item to make sure you're happy with the set up. So let's take a look at the line item features.

To access the line item data, click the 'edit' button on a line item.
If you are setting up a new service, click the 'Add new line item' button to then start configuring the line item data.

Line Item features:

Line Item Label

The 'Line Item Label' is the field where you should enter the name of your service. Remember that this label will appear in your 'create engagement letter' page and then within your engagement letters, so keep it straight to the point.

Service Schedules

Within the 'content tab' of the line item, you can apply/ review your service schedule. OverSuite provides a variety of service schedules from the drop down menu. Further information on applying service schedules can be found within our help article here.

Key Dates

The Key Dates features will need to be enabled by using the toggle, if you wish to use this feature.
The Key Dates feature allows you to clearly define important criteria and responsibility for each service by indicating dates such as the start date for the work and the deadline for all information.
For further detail on the Key Dates feature, please see our help article here.

Add Tooltips

Tooltips are a great way to provide nuggets of information either to you or your staff members, to communicate the service to the client when creating the engagement letter.
Further information on Tooltips, see our help article here.

Integrations

If you have integrations set up in your OverSuite app, you can look to assign these to a line item. This means that when an engagement letter with this service included is signed, a workflow can be triggered within that integration.

When you have finished configuring your line item data, be sure to click the Save button at the bottom of the window.
